Update from Gina

Hello Everyone!

We would like to wish everyone a belated Happy Valentine’s Day (I was suppose to be organized and get this out last week, but that never happened). It’s crazy to think that just one year ago on Valentine’s Day is when we told everyone we were having a baby and now we have this beautiful little girl who is the center of our world! Anyways, I just wanted to check in with everyone and let them know how little Rohm is doing. We went to the doctor on Thursday for her four month check up. She weighs 17.2 pounds (95th percentile for her age), is 25.9 inches long (90th percentile), and is in the 100th percentile for her head size. I’ve been telling Adam she has a big head but he didn’t believe me. Now we know she does have a big head! Other exciting news is that the hemangioma stopped growing and we don’t have to go back to the dermatologist until August!

So little Rohmmie has been giggling and cooing on a regular basis. One of her new developments is this adorable little belly laugh, where she actually laughs from her belly! It’s this cute, deep laugh that she makes and she does it quite often for mom and dad, so that is lots of fun!! She also laughs her little head off when mom and dad snort at her like a pig or bark at her like a dog (this is mom and dad’s favorite)! The other night I was putting her to sleep and Bea was in the room barking at something and Rohm was just laughing in her crib, she thought it was so funny! Rohm also likes to pet our cat, Luta (Luta more or less pets herself with Rohm’s arm but that’s ok). Rohm has noticed Luta more often and now she will reach out to touch her and this is when Luta will rub up against Rohm’s arm to be pet. It’s very cute. Rohm, Bea, Luta, and I spend a lot of time together!!

Rohm reaches for toys now and puts them against her mouth to explore them. She will sit and listen to us read a book to her but she doesn’t really look at the pictures too much. She doesn’t really have any favorite things yet other than her pacie and eating. Which reminds me, we have tried feeding her cereal for the first time and she was not into it! After a few tries, she stuck out her lower lip and curled it under into a frown. She just looked so sad!! We tried again a few days later and the same thing happened. So we’ve waited about a week and think maybe we’ll try it again in a few days. I now eat in front of her all the time and make yummy noises every time I take a bite, she just smiles and thinks I’m entertaining her, totally oblivious to the fact that I’m eating. Oh well. She is also very close to rolling over, on either side! So that will probably be her new trick in March when we visit. We’ll also be working on sitting up! It’s all very exciting and it is going rather fast. It’s the best time Adam and I have ever had in our lives and it’s sad to think that we’ll never get it back, that eventually Rohm will be this little person walking around and talking all the time! I know that will be fun too but these moments are just so precious (which is a word I never thought I would use in my life, but it’s kind of true).

I hope everyone got their announcement, if not please let me know.

Anyways, enough about us. We love all of you and can’t wait to see you! Enjoy the pictures.
